Bommelwereld: A New Castle with an Old Soul
In 2025, Team RoosArt transformed the brand-new Bommelwereld amusement park in Groenlo.
The park's imposing castle was painted stone by stone. Through colour, shading and texture, the new concrete structure was transformed into a weathered, centuries-old castle.
We also created decorative paintings throughout the park, helping turn the entire environment into a cohesive fairytale world.
Bommelwereld is RoosArt's largest commission to date and a strong example of what decorative street art can achieve.

RoosArts Paintings—that is, Rosalie de Graaf and her team—have done a wonderful job at the Buurtspoorweg Museum. Our museum in Haaksbergen, with a 7-kilometer rail line leading to the museum site in Boekelo, strives to let our visitors (re)experience the local rail service of days gone by in an accessible way. However, we regularly have to repair or even replace older objects and structures because they have not stood the test of time. This was also the case with our train platform in Boekelo. However, the necessary modern concrete structure would have brutally disrupted the historical visual illusion. RoosArts Paintings has done a magnificent job by imbuing this modern structure with the visual illusion of the mid-20th century. Not only through an appropriate color palette and patina, but also by successfully creating the illusion of form and relief, in keeping with old structures. A masterpiece of the highest order! In addition, the entire process—from our initial meeting, through planning, the quote, organization, execution, quality control, and invoicing—went smoothly. A company we’d definitely work with again.
